Director of Rugby Josh Leach said there is plenty to build on after his side lost by 2 points against English Championship side Caldy at Wrexham.
“It is a fair reflection on where we are, I thought in much of the game we played well but those inconsistencies let us down at times. In attack we looked dangerous at times, which is something we have been working on – and will continue to work on in training.
We need to look at the errors, especially at key times both in defence and attack – as that’s what costs momentum and points.
I thought Dan Owen carried well, Afon Bagshaw looked good and Billy McBryde impressed in his return. We have a mix of new faces and players coming back in, and I was pleased to see Ethan Fackrell looking like the player we know he is, after injuries last season. We know where we need to be performance wise, and we will continue to work hard in training this week and continue to look for improvements”

The 2nd try came after more pressure from the pack and the conversion gave them a 14-3 lead at the break.
It was the Gogs that claimed the try after the break, as they one the arm wrestle around the maul and Dan Owen powered over before McBryde added the extras.
The game continued to be olayed at a fast pace, and Caldy moved the ball quickly and got there rewards down the right wing with the try.
Credit to RGC as they continued to attack and find some space, and when scrum-half Dan Roderick broke down the middle he set up Bagshaw who ran in for the try. McBryde hit the conversion.
The visitors edged ahead when again the scored down the right and the conversion was good as well.
