Bagshaw - "Plenty to take from Bethesda Win"

24 Aug 2024

RGC ran in 9 tries against Bethesda, as the club celebrated their 50th anniversary. RGC’s side had a mix of youth and experience  That was seen in the try scoring – including tries from Sam Stoddard, Gareth Parry, Celt Ffransis- Roberts, Tudur Jones, Emyr Jones and Osian Burt

Assistant Coach Afon Bagshaw took plenty from the 57-10 victory, especially in the 1st half performance “It showed when we stuck with our processes we looked good and created chances and in the 2nd half when we went off script it played into their hands.  I thought Tudur, Charlie, Celt and Harri Hughes played well,  - and that’s what we want, competition for places throughout the squad.

We have plenty to work on in training, and it's building that momentum for the Cardiff game in September.
Thanks to Bethesda for their hospitality today, and we were delighted to be part of their 50th anniversary celebrations.
For RGC it's massively important to come and play at clubs across the region, as without the work of the clubs we wouldn’t have the pathway of players coming through – and that doesn’t go unnoticed by us.”

RGC head to Welshpool next week when they face Swansea University 7.30pm.
