With the new Super Rygbi Cymru season approaching, RGC are delighted to see another batch of Junior Academy Players stepping up to the Senior Academy for 25/26.
Ollie Roe (Prop - Rhyl)
Will Kellett (Second Row - Ruthin)
Osian Llewelyn (Centre - Caernarfon)
Director of Rugby Josh Leach -
Ollie has had a couple of terrific seasons in the Junior Academy programme, making big progress. He put in some big performances at Regional Age Grade level last year, demonstrating his strength in the scrum and power in his carries.
Will has worked extremely hard on his lineout skills over the past couple of years and has seen significant improvement. He is growing into big lad and has enjoyed the physical challenge in stepping up into the men's game.
Osian has been a central figure in the Junior Academy programme. He has an excellent attitude, is very self-driven, and has grown into a strong leader. He is a strong, powerful ball carrier in midfield and has already had a taste of SRC rugby.
Again, it is pleasing to see such strong players coming through the pathway system. Whilst all three were central to the U18 Regional Age Grade team last year, they have already had an experience of senior rugby, training up with the SRC team through the final months of last season, and getting game time within the North Wales Leagues. We’ve no doubt they will adapt quickly to the speed and physicality of SRC rugby, and hopefully all three will be pushing for Wales U20 places over the next couple of years.
