RGC will be looking to back up last week's victory against Newport when they face Pontypridd at Eirias on Saturday. 2.30 pm
A late penalty was the clincher in a 32-31 win, with the boot of Dion Jones hitting the points. The fly-half is looking to end the season strongly "It was a great win last Sunday, to go to league leaders Newport and end their unbeaten run shows what we can do.
We stayed in the game, and credit to everyone as even with minutes on the clock and the wrong end of a penalty we created one more opportunity and we took it. That said, we now need to back it up on Saturday.
Consistency is something we have not found this season, and we gave ourselves the challenge of finishing April strongly and after Newport we can push on and do that with 2 home games,
We know Pontypridd well, after a few encounters and a couple of postponements, so Saturday gives us a chance to give the supporters something to cheer about after a few weeks away from Eirias.
The season has felt pretty stop start, so it’s good to get a couple of games back to back and even with a 6-day turnaround, training has been good and we are ready. Looking at the table, we are both on the same points, but with us playing an extra game. So the win is crucial if we want to finish well in the league."
Pontypridd head north with 5 wins in a row, against Llandovery, Merthyr, Bridgend, Swansea, and Llanelli.
