RGC are looking to bounce back and pick up their first win of the season as they playing their first home game of the season on Saturday at Stadiwm CSM. 2.30pm
Newport are 1 win from 1 after defeating Pontypool in the opening round of games, and after a free week last weekend they head North
Last season RGC won the clash in February when tries from Dion Jones, Jordan Jones, Efan Jones and Rhys Tudor gave the Gogs a 36-21 score.
RGC's Sam Earl-Jones knows the sides need to build and improve on last week’s performance against Cardiff -
“It’s been a good week training-wise, as we have been working areas that didn’t really fire for us last week.
As a group we talked about improving, and with the younger players as well we need to build on last week and continue to make improvements.
Newport will be a tough one, but all games this season will be tough so it’s on us to perform. It’s the first home game of the season, we have the new pitch so we want to make sure the fans get something to cheer about.
This is the only home game we have this month, with another 2 games on the road to come – so we are looking forward to being at Stadiwm CSM.”
Head Coach Ceri Jones “When you look at the side last week, we had 6 debuts and an average age of 22 meant boys will have gained experience, which will be invaluable going forward for us and a rugby region.”
