RGC's Afon Bagshaw is no different to a fan in the way he is looking forward to the season ahead. RGC head into the season with a mix of experience and plenty of young players coming through the Academy ranks.
"As a group we are all looking forward to getting out and playing week after week. The games will come fast now, so the big challenge for us is to be competitive. Ceri has come in, so that has added some fresh impetuous to training, as all the boys are looking to impress and get into the starting line-up.
Expectation wise it's about us performing and making sure we are focused for 80 minutes. It sounds obvious but that platform will give us something to build on in the game.
The senior voices in the team are always important, so we have to make sure we deliver and help the younger boys adapt to this level of rugby."
Cardiff and Merthyr away are the opening games before RGC are at home for games against Newport (2nd October, 2.30pm) and Ebbw Vale (9th October, 5.30pm)
