RGC can announce the signing of Billy McBryde from Doncaster for next season.
He was the first RGC player to make 50 consecutive appearances, before he left to play for Doncaster Knights back in 2020.
With over 70 appearances for the Yorkshire club in the Championship, he is looking forward to returning to North Wales.
“Firstly I want to say thank you to the Doncaster Knights for a fantastic 4 seasons, I’ve made some incredible memories and met some incredible people and want to wish the club the very best for the future.
I’m extremely excited to be coming back to RGC. I had always expressed a desire to come back one day and with a new competition on the horizon, I feel like now is the right time.
Playing outside of Wales for the past 4 seasons in a very tough and competitive league has taught me a great deal, and I hope to bring back some of the knowledge and experiences I’ve had to help push RGC towards the top end of the table. I’m still incredibly ambitious and demand high standards of myself and others around me which I will continue to do on my return. I look forward to linking up with some familiar faces and some new young talent that the region has produced over the past few seasons.
I’m buzzing to put the shirt back on and run out in front of the supporters at Stadiwm CSM once again!"
RGC General Manager Alun Pritchard is looking forward to adding Billy to the squad, with the experience he brings.
“I am delighted that we have managed to bring in a player of Billy’s quality to improve the squad. His previous record speaks for itself, and he will add a level of experience and game management that we have potentially missed at times this season.
Aside from his rugby playing abilities, Billy is also an individual who will help drive standards off the pitch, support the development of our young players and add to the positive team environment.”
