With the 3 Rounds of Fixtures set to start next month, the players have been in training over the past couple of weeks building the preparation for the games ahead.
The coaching team of Dan Lycett , Ross Williams and Elen Evans have been impressed with the will to work, drive and determination to show their skills in the upcoming festivals.
Dan Lycett gives an insight into the past couple of weeks “32 Girls have turned up to the open training session and in line with the aims and objectives we have kept training open to each of these individuals. This allows coaches to maximise the exposure of these players to higher standards of coaching. The aims are clear to develop and place the best the region has to offer for access to a potential inclusion in the Welsh Under 18's set up, or return to their Hubs with a greater understanding of the game and how best to maximise their potential in the future.
“The players have been exposed to the full barrage of regional life, with tailored Strength and Conditioning as well as unit training and game play scenarios.”
“As a group they have been keen to express their thoughts on play and how important it is to stay connected to the values that were at the core of the previous RGC women's teams and how proud they are to be linked to the women who have pulled on the Ox Blood red shirt in the past”
Ross Williams has also been impressed at the commitment from an S&C perspective “The players have come in with a great base of physical ability in the team and moving forward the region can look forward to producing fine athletes”
It is clear as a group the want and determination to learn is evident in every session with the team have set very high standards of us and themselves.
