Heading South to face the Steelmen

Heading South to face the Steelmen 27 Sep 2023

RGC are away at Ebbw Vale on Saturday, as they look to claim their first win of the season.  The Steelman sit on 11 points after 3 games, with wins coming against Cardiff and Pontypridd.

Last season it was 1 win each in the head-to-head, with the home advantage delivery for both teams with victories

Matt Buchanan says the side can't dwell on past games; “It has been a tough opening month, and Saturday sees us on the road for the 3rd game out of 4 before we have a free weekend."

"We have shown in parts of games that we can compete, we can cause teams problems but we haven’t done it consistently for 80 minutes and that has cost us.
As much as we can look back, we just need to keep looking forward, keep training better and putting in those 80-minute performances."

"It’s a steep learning curve for some of the boys, and last week the team had an average age of 21 – so that bit of experience is missing but we know that, and we need to adapt."

"This is the last game of a 4-week block, and then it's 2 weeks til our next game home to Swansea on October 14th, so we are keen to get some momentum going.
Ebbw Vale away is one of those games on the fixture list that you know will be hard, and we know what’s coming our way from them.”
