Bagshaw: Focus Back On League

Bagshaw: Focus Back On League 9 Dec 2022

RGC captain Afon Bagshaw is hoping for another vocal crowd as the team play Carmarthen Quins on Saturday, 2.30pm Stadiwm CSM

“The Cup win was great, and it keeps the interest going into 2023 but we won’t play the semi-final til March, so the total focus has to be the league.

We are in a good run now, but it’s only good if we keep on winning.  From a player's point of view to have these home games back to back in December is a huge bonus, and we want to make sure we take full advantage.  The crowd was amazing last week, the loudest I have heard it this season and drives on during the game

Quins are always a tough opposition for us, and it will be no different tomorrow the one thing we know is that if we don’t hit our top performance levels, we won’t get anything from the game.”

In the Indigo Group Premiership Carmarthen Quins head north on a 4-game losing run, with the last win in October when the beat Llanelli 28-27.

RGC have already picked up a win against them in the Cup, and league wise the last time both sides played at Stadiwm CSM it ended with a 15-all draw in 2019 with tries from Sam Jones and Cam Davies.

We also had another level score in 2018 when again at home we drew 20-20 , scorers on the day were Tom Hughes and Iolo Evans.
