The teams sees Dion Jones make a return to the starting line-up, with Danny Cross moving to centre whilst Harri Evans is selected on the wing. Cam Davies also gets the start at scrum-half.
New recruit Karl Martin is named on the bench. He arrives from South Africa, and the 22 year old can play full-back and wing.
Head Coach Mark Jones spoke on the new face in the squad “We have brought Karl in to add some cover in the backline, with Afon away on the 7s season we were always going to be light hence why Karl is here.”
“When RGC have looked to bring anyone in from out with the region, it has and always will be for the benefit of the team….not to block the development of a North Wales player, in the same way as when we had Tiaan and Jacob were with us.
“We have players such as Sam Rogers, Baily Rae and Will Sanderson who are applying their trade as they make the step up from Age Grade to Premiership rugby, but with experienced players like Afon getting Wales 7’s professional contracts deal we need to make sure we replace that quality as best we can. The North Wales players targeted have either not been able to commit or are long term injured, so we then look to add that quality and Karl’s experience will benefit the younger players around him”
