RGC face a tough challenge on Saturday against Ebbw Vale, 2.30pm at Stadiwm CSM.  The Gogs are coming off the back of 2 defeats against Merthyr and Newport and captain Afon Jones is looking for his side to get back to winning ways.

“It’s the 1st home game of the year, and a chance to get our first win of 2023.

Results wise it has been disappointing the past 2 games, especially when we were on a good winning run at the back end of last year.

We have 2 home games in a row, starting with Ebbw Vale and the focus is on our performance making sure we reach the standards needed to get something from the game.

Games against Ebbw Vale are always tough, and come up here with 6 league wins on the bounce so their confidence will be high.”

RGC were the last side to beat Ebbw Vale, back in December when the Gogs picked up a 35-17 cup win. Earlier in the season Ebbw picked up the home win 24-8, and the last time both sides played at Stadiwm CSM in the league, RGC ran out 27-11 winners in March 2022, with tries from Rhys Tudor, Dion Jones and Jordan Scott
