RGC will be in midweek action on Wednesday when they face Cardiff University, It will be a chance for players in the squad to get some game time, look to impress and stake a claim for upcoming Premiership selection.

Performance Manager Josh Leach gives his thoughts on the aim of the fixture 

"When reflecting on last season we recognised that some of our Senior Academy players,  typically between 18-22 who weren't playing regularly in the Premiership side, struggled to get enough high-quality game time. 

So this year we have scheduled a handful of Senior Academy games against various opposition in order to challenge these players and give them a stepping stone towards Premiership and National Age Grade rugby.

Playing university sides like Cardiff and Swansea who compete in the BUCS Super League, exposes our young lads to high-speed, high-quality rugby, and for those who are playing for Bangor University a taste of what we are trying to push them towards.

We have to give a huge thanks to Llanidloes RFC for hosting the game in mid-Wales."
