RGC Women’s 18s Captains

RGC Women’s 18s Captains 27 Dec 2022

The co-captains for the Women's 18s season have been selected, with Branwen Metcalfe  and Hannah Lane both looking forward to the season ahead

Branwen Metcalfe “ Being part of the regional program has helped me develop my game and I'm extremely grateful for this. I'm looking forward to playing on a regional level and having the opportunity to show our skills as a team to all of the south Wales regions. Since beginning training, the girls and coaches have all come to know each other, and it's a pleasure to be a part of that. I'm looking forward to the games so we can show off our skills and the standard of women's rugby in North Wales.

Hannah Lane “Over the last couple of months we’ve been building on our knowledge of the game and learning about each other. It has been challenging but a lot of fun. We’re still in the ‘getting to know you’ period and it’s great to see people that didn’t know each other a few weeks ago starting to bond.
As the games get closer we’re starting to talk tactics and implement what we’ve learned, everyone is looking forward to trying out new plays as a team. I’m really excited for our first game of the season against Ospreys, they’re really going to challenge us and we’ll get a good picture of what works and what doesn’t.”

Head Coach Mike Evans has been impressed with the pre-season commitment from the squad “Being Head coach of the u18s this season is a massive honour and something I’m taking full advantage of.  The standard of the girls is second to none, their attitude and effort have been amazing since we started in October and can’t wait to see them play in January.
Credit to all the girls for turning up week in week out and willing to develop and learn in such a short period of time.”
