RGC: Rebels v Barbarians 18 Dec 2021

Rebels 5 Barbarians 17

18th December 2021

Parc Eirias hosted a game even after the Pontypridd fixture was postponed

Both sides featured a mix of RGC players, supported by players from clubs around the region.

It was the Rebels versus Barbarians, and the Barbarians took the lead with a driving maul and Brodie Coghlan came up with the ball.  Sam Rogers hit the conversion.

Tommy Ellis and Rhys Williams combined for the Rebels as they tried to spark back into action.

The Rebels did get the next score when Sam Hughes took the ball at halfway and ran the pitch to touchdown. Sam Rogers missed the conversion.

Barbarians extended their lead when winger Rhys Tudor went in at the corner after he powered through some tackles to get the try.

The second half started with another driving maul score from the Barbarians, with Aaron Williams getting the try.

The Rebels started to get some possession and tested the Barbarians defence, Afon Bagshaw made some strong runs to gain field position.

It was a family affair, as Morgan Bagshaw then made a powerful run down the middle before being tackled.

The 80 minutes was a good run out for players, and it became a physical affair with both sides looking for the next score but the defences remained solid.
