RGC take on Pontypridd on Saturday, 2,30pm at Parc EIrias, with a place in the Indigo Group Premiership Cup at stake. After the late win against Ebbw Vale on Friday, Head Coach Ceri Jones talked about his side putting themselves in a position to win the game.....and that it similar to what can happen on Saturday. It is the last game of the Cup Group stages and RGC are in a position to qualify into the Quarter final stage. With the top 4 sides from both the east and west groups going though, RGC currently sit in 4th position with 21 points with Pontypridd just behind them on 19 points. So the stakes are high, but the end goal is clear. Whoever wins the game finishes in 4th position. 2 points separate the teams, and when they played each other back in October, 2 points was also the difference with Pontypridd winning 40-38 at Sardis Road. RGC are on a 3 game winning run, including the past 2 games on the road ...so they will be looking to continue that form backed by a big crowd on Saturday. The visitors head North with 2 defeats in the past 2 games wth losses against Cardiff and Merthyr.
