Cup At Carmarthen

Cup At Carmarthen 20 Oct 2022

RGC kick start their Premiership Cup campaign away to Carmarthen Quins on Saturday, knowing a win will put them in a good position for a semi-final spot.
The hosts have already played one cup game, which ended in defeat to Ebbw Vale in the 3-team group.

Sam Earl-Jones gave his thoughts  “The cup format means the pressure to win is on from the 1st game, as in the group its 2 games and straight into knock out for the group winners
Ebbw Vale beat Quins a few weeks ago, so they are in the driving seat and for us, it's simple - win both games and we are in the semi-final.
It is another challenging away trip at a ground we have always found tricky in the past – so for the players, we need to perform from that whistle.  Last week that didn’t happen, and we were punished in that opening 20 minutes at Llandovery.
The chance to progress in the cup is a huge incentive, especially when you break it down – Win 3 games and then you are in a final.  That means every game is vital and we cant dip in performance levels at any point.”
