Positives in Academy Performances

Both Academy sides put in good performances last weekend at the Ospreys which will give both players and coaches’ confidence heading into the other games.

Performance Manager Josh Leach gave his thoughts “It was a good day and a well-deserved win for the U16s.  They have had some close defeats so hopefully, this will give them the confidence to push on now. Confidence comes with belief and the players know now they can beat the other regions and compete at this level. Gav Hodgkinson and the coaching team have been putting in a huge amount of work and that commitment needs to be credited.  The boys are also enjoying it and you can see that as a group.”

“The U18s are improving with every game, and I think the fact they have been training with the seniors is starting to see some benefits.  Their defence work has come on and they have been leading games heading into the last quarter, but just need to learn to close games out.  Once again the coaches deserve praise as to give up evenings, weekends and travelling whilst having jobs is difficult and the commitment doesn’t go unnoticed
