Academy: 18s Face Scarlets

Academy: 18s Face Scarlets 12 Jan 2022

After a long wait RGC U18s return to competitive rugby when they play the Scarlets at Eirias Sunday at the start of a busy 6 weeks for the Academy players.

New Head Coach Saul Nelson is excited to see his players out on the field and knows how important it is for the boys to finally get out and play rugby for RGC.

“The U18s/17s Age group are part of a generation who have missed out on an important part of rugby development, so we want them to go out and enjoy themselves. The boys have been training hard for months, and since I have been involved their commitment has been brilliant.  They now have the chance to express themselves on the field on Sunday.

It will be a test, and it's a great opportunity as we face the other regions in the upcoming weeks both home and away.  I know the boys are desperate to play and as coaches, we are preparing them to perform as best they can as head into these Academy games, which I know they will do.  It is important they represent RGC with pride and passion when they pull on the North Wals shirt, and if they do that then their effort will be rewarded.
