Davies Signs Up 13 Jul 2023

RGC have today confirmed the signing of former Caernarfon and Cardiff Met second rower Jack Davies. The 21-year-old was previously in the RGC pathway as a winger but converted to second row after going to university.

At 6’5 and 114kg, the former Cofi is a big unit but was also a Welsh 400m junior medallist so can put on the after-burners when required as well! Jack is delighted to have joined RGC; “I’m extremely happy to be back in North Wales following my time away in university. I enjoyed my time in the RGC pathway and was in the same age group as current RGC player Ilan Evans so already know a few of the players. I’m very grateful to Caernarfon for the support and development they have given me, especially Head Coach, Carl Owen.”

RGC Head Coach, Ceri Jones, was equally pleased to have made the signing; “It’s fantastic to sign a young, athletic North Walian player who has made a great impression during pre-season training. He is exactly the type of player we want to invest time into and new Assistant Coach, Huw Taylor, is looking forward to working with him in order to try and develop him as an RGC stalwart of the future.” Ironically, Jack’s first run out could be at Caernarfon when the Senior Academy face London Welsh on Saturday 5th August.

This is followed by home friendlies against Sale FC on Saturday 12th August and Doncaster on Saturday 19th August, both of which will be totally free of charge for all to attend.
